Short sea has been <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/transport\/maritime\/sss\/index_en.htm\" target=\"_blank\">in place in Europe for more than 20 years<\/a>, and now due to increasing road congestion along I-95 and the North East corridor, the method is attracting serious attention here in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/providenceworkingwaterfront.org\/index.php\/2008\/02\/29\/short-sea-shipping-experts-tour-providence-harbor\/\">A group of short sea shipping experts recently toured Providence Harbor<\/a>.  On the tour was Robert Kunkel of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coastal-connect.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Coastal Connect<\/a>, a short sea shipping start up company.
